The workshop is primarily targeted to VMware vSphere administrators and other specialists working with VMware.
In the first part of the workshop, we’ll introduce the version 5 of vSphere that VMware released to general availability on August 24, 2011. We’ll discuss the licensing policy changes and new functionality in this latest version, and demonstrate Storage DRS, the Web Client, and other new features.
The second part of the workshop focuses on EMC Virtual Storage Integrator (VSI) plugin to the VMware vSphere client. As modern data centers are increasingly becoming vSphere-centric, the virtual environment administrators need to manage all (sub) resources through vSphere. We’ll show how data storage and provisioning take place in the virtual environment, and how to expand the possibilities of the vSphere administrators to quickly provision storage while at the same time maintaining control and following the best practices.
